Effective altruism is about using evidence and reason to figure out how to benefit others as much as possible, and taking action on that basis.

Rather than contribute to causes that have personal significance or simply present themselves, we can do far more good by contributing to charities that most efficiently and effectively use donations, maximizing the amount of good a dollar can do.

This is the website for the Westchester chapter of effective altruism. To reach The Centre for Effective Altruism's website, which has a lot of valuable information, click here.
